Job Title: Temporary Part Time Receptionist
Pay: $18-19/hour DOE
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:45am - 3:15pm, 30 hours/week (guaranteed 6 hours/day with some days up to 8 hours)
Length of Assignment: 3 months
Start Date: ASAP
A community-based food share organization in Salem, OR is seeking a Temporary Part Time Receptionist to support daily operations. This organization collects and distributes food to a network of over 100 partner agencies, serving meal sites, food pantries, foster homes, low-income childcare centers, shelters, and senior housing communities throughout the Mid-Valley. With strong community support, the team plays a vital role in ensuring food reaches those in need, and the Temporary Part Time Receptionist will be key in maintaining smooth front office operations and positive interactions with partners and visitors.
What you will Do-
As a Temporary Part Time Receptionist, you will be responsible for:
Welcoming callers and visitors:
- Professionally welcome visitors, guests, volunteers and community partners and connect them to the appropriate staff.
- Answer incoming phone calls, connect callers to appropriate staff and make referrals to community agencies as needed.
- Share information regarding mission with visitors, guests and community members.
- Maintain a work environment conducive to good community partnerships and programs.
- Coordinate work with colleagues.
- Support company’s mission and represent the agency professionally to the public.
Providing clerical support to staff and volunteers as needed:
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours as individuals sign in and out.
- Assist in preparation of print materials, mailings, newsletters, etc. and provide general administrative support as needed.
- Receive incoming mail, sort and distribute to appropriate staff.
- Accurately record all incoming financial donations and coordinate with Finance and Development Departments.
- Accurately and efficiently process and record credit card, check and cash transactions.
- Maintain accurate schedules, reservations and ticket sales for fundraising events, community kitchen and classes.
- Other duties as assigned.
What we are looking for-
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Bilingual English/Spanish as a strong preference.
- Familiarity with basic Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and Outlook, preferred; or the ability to become quickly familiar with programs utilized by the company.
- Prior experience providing excellent customer service is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent completed or in progress.
