Required

 
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an an accredited college or university (preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of Nursing experience in an inpatient or acute care setting
Licenses and Certifications:
  • CA-RN (Registered Nurse)
  • Current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers

Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on patient care, practicing evidence-based nursing within the California Nursing Practice Act and hospital policies.
  • Coordinate patient care with other providers and teach patients/families self-management skills.
  • Create a healing climate by being present, managing discomforts, providing emotional support, and guiding patients/families through illness and recovery.
  • Mobilize patient strengths for participation in recovery and plan of care.
  • Obtain accurate assessment data, interpret it, determine nursing diagnoses, and monitor/evaluate frequently based on stability.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team to develop individualized care plans.
  • Implement nursing and medical interventions safely, evaluating effectiveness and monitoring for adverse responses.
  • Assess patient/family learning needs and readiness, teaching self-care and illness prevention, adjusting information based on responses and cultural variations.
  • Rapidly grasp problem situations and respond quickly and appropriately, activating emergency protocols as needed.
  • Contribute to team building through participation in unit programs and meetings, fostering positive morale and using effective conflict resolution.
  • Utilize available technology for communication, documentation, and information retrieval.
