IDR is seeking a Business Data Analyst to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. This role involves supporting enterprise data initiatives within a public sector environment, specifically focusing on Workers' Compensation data and business processes.

Position Overview for the Business Data Analyst:
- Serve as the subject matter expert on Workers' Compensation data, business processes, and operational workflows.
- Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to gather, analyze, and document business and data requirements.
- Validate source data, business rules, and data transformations to ensure business logic is accurately reflected throughout the data pipeline.
- Work closely with Data Engineers to support data ingestion, transformation, and validation efforts within Databricks.
- Analyze complex datasets using SQL and Python to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Collaborate with Agile teams by participating in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and requirements discussions.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and assist with validating data quality, business rules, and reporting outputs.
Requirements for the Business Data Analyst:
- 5+ years of experience as a Technical Data Analyst, Business Data Analyst, or similar role supporting enterprise data initiatives.
- Experience supporting Workers' Compensation systems, claims, or business operations.
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to analyze, validate, and reconcile complex datasets.
- Experience working with Databricks and modern cloud-based data platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Python for data analysis or validation.
- Experience working within AWS environments.
