IDR is seeking a PostGres DBA to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. This role is within an organization that relies heavily on cloud-based database solutions to support their data-driven initiatives. Position Overview for the PostGres DBA:

• Manage, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL database environments to ensure performance, high availability, and reliability on cloud platforms
• Oversee the full database lifecycle, including installation, configuration, monitoring, and tuning of PostgreSQL instances both on-premises and in the cloud
• Design and implement backup, recovery, disaster recovery, security, and access control strategies for databases
• Administer database replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions leveraging traditional and AWS-native tools
• Collaborate with development teams on schema design, SQL code review, and application database integration

Requirements for the PostGres DBA:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in database administration, with at least 6 years focused on PostgreSQL
• Hands-on experience managing AWS RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL environments
• Strong knowledge of Linux (Red Hat preferred), SQL, and cloud infrastructure
• Experience with database design, stored procedures, and security configurations
• Proven ability to automate database maintenance and operational tasks using scripting and AWS automation tools
