IDR is seeking a Network Engineer II to join one of our top clients for an onsite opportunity in Palo, Iowa. This role involves supporting network infrastructure projects within a highly controlled environment, focusing on Cisco networking and operational tasks to ensure reliable and secure network performance.

Position Overview for the Network Engineer II:

• Responsible for independently executing network infrastructure projects and operational tasks according to established standards.
• Support the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Cisco network devices and configurations.
• Collaborate with remote architects and senior engineers to complete project milestones.
• Maintain accurate documentation including Visio diagrams, IP/VLAN records, and as-built configurations.
• Work onsite in a nuclear-site environment, adhering to strict operational discipline and safety protocols.

Requirements for the Network Engineer II:

• Strong Cisco routing/switching: VLANs, trunks, STP, EtherChannel, OSPF, TCP/IP, subnetting, ACLs, and basic redundancy.
• Hands-on deployment experience: rack/stack, switch turn-ups, replacements, configuration, migrations, cutovers, and validation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across Layer 1–3, including fiber/SFPs, cabling, switch ports, and packet/connectivity problems.
• Ability to execute MOPs/change plans, participate in maintenance windows, and document results.
• Experience with network refreshes, site builds, migrations, or other project-based infrastructure deployments.
