IDR is seeking a AI Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Houston, TX. This role involves working within a dynamic Data & AI team focused on building scalable AI solutions, with a particular emphasis on generative AI and large language models. The company is a leader in the technology industry, dedicated to innovative AI application development.

Position Overview for the AI Engineer:

• Design, prototype, and deploy GenAI-powered applications using techniques such as RAG, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and vector search
• Develop APIs and software components in Python to support AI applications and ensure scalable, production-grade solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI capabilities into various business applications
• Deploy, monitor, and optimize GenAI models and pipelines using cloud-native tools and orchestration frameworks like LangChain and LlamaIndex
• Contribute to AI platform architecture across cloud environments such as Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure

Requirements for the AI Engineer:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, or a related field
• 5+ years of software development experience with strong Python skills
• 2+ years of hands-on experience building GenAI/LLM-based applications
• Experience developing multi-step agent workflows using orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph or similar
• Proficient in designing retrieval pipelines, embeddings & vector databases, prompt engineering, and working with LLM APIs
