IDR is seeking a Functional Analyst to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Sacramento, CA. This role involves supporting digital product initiatives for a state government project. The organization is a leader in delivering technology solutions within the public sector, emphasizing collaboration between business and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Position Overview for the Functional Analyst:
- Support digital product initiatives by gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and functional requirements
- Translate business needs into clear, structured functional specifications and user stories
- Identify gaps, risks, and dependencies across product features to support project success
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, and QA teams to support delivery and facilitate backlog grooming and prioritization
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
Requirements for the Functional Analyst:
- 3–5 years of experience as a Functional Analyst, Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or Consultant supporting technology or digital products
- Strong understanding of product functionality and business processes
- Hands-on experience in Agile/Scrum environments (user stories, acceptance criteria, sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement)
- Experience collaborating with product managers, developers, and QA teams
- Support experience for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and familiarity with defect tracking tools like Azure DevOps
