IDR is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Englewood, Colorado. This role involves supporting cutting-edge military aircraft systems within a new aircraft design program, focusing on advanced aerospace components and structures. Position Overview for the Sr. Mechanical Engineer:

• Lead the mechanical design and development of next-generation military aircraft systems and structures within a new aircraft design program
• Drive the conceptualization, development, and refinement of advanced aerospace components to optimize performance, safety, and efficiency
• Collaborate cross-functionally with aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, materials, and manufacturing teams from concept through production
• Research, design, analyze, test, certify, and deploy cutting-edge products and technologies in support of the UJTS program
• Support the full product lifecycle, including development of complex aerodynamic components, integrated systems, and continuous product improvement

Requirements for the Sr. Mechanical Engineer:

• Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
• Familiarity with engineering simulation tools, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and thermal analysis
• Background in the Aerospace and Defense industry
• Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, including parametric design, model-based definition, material selection, and manufacturing processes
• Proven ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary design and development teams
