Java Developer with Go/C/C++ – Hybrid in California or Jersey City, NJ

IDR is seeking a highly skilled Java Developer with Go/C/C++ expertise to support back-end services and trading platforms for one of our leading financial services clients. This is a hybrid role based in California or Jersey City, NJ, ideal for someone experienced in enterprise-grade development and passionate about performance, scalability, and clean architecture. Position Overview / Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and support back-end services using Java and Go or C/C++

• Implement RESTful, SOAP, or gRPC APIs for scalable service integration

• Work with Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, and batch-processing scripts in Unix

• Develop and optimize SQL queries for databases such as Sybase, SQL Server, or UDB

• Maintain and enhance automated scripts using UNIX shell, Perl, or ksh

• Collaborate with product owners and architects in an Agile/SCRUM environment

• Apply object-oriented design principles and service-oriented architecture (SOA)

• Contribute to cloud, container, and service mesh adoption across systems

• Deliver clean, modular, and high-performing code in a regulated environment

Required Skills:

• 8+ years of Java development experience with additional expertise in Go or C/C++

• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs, and gRPC

• Strong experience writing SQL for relational databases (Sybase, SQL Server, UDB)

• Solid background in financial services or investment banking (minimum 4 years)

• Familiarity with margin lending or trading systems is preferred

• Scripting experience with Unix shell, Perl, or KSH

• Exposure to cloud technologies, containers, and service mesh

• Agile/SCRUM experience with a delivery-focused mindset

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical abilities
