IDR is seeking a Critical Operations Engineer I to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Secaucus, NY. This role is vital in maintaining and troubleshooting large-scale mechanical and electrical systems within a critical operations environment. The company operates within the data center or facilities infrastructure industry, focusing on high-reliability systems and processes.
Position Overview for the Critical Operations Engineer I:
Responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex HVAC and electrical systems in a critical facility.
Supports continuous operations by diagnosing system issues such as chilled water, cooling towers, and generators.
Collaborates with team members to ensure system efficiency and safety compliance during night shift hours.
Assists in monitoring system performance and implementing preventative maintenance measures.
Works within a fast-paced environment requiring technical expertise and attention to detail.
Requirements for the Critical Operations Engineer I:
Minimum of 2 years experience installing, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting large commercial and industrial systems including chilled water systems, large centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, and heat exchangers.
Proven experience with water treatment systems, VFD’s, pumps, and HVAC equipment.
Knowledge of BMS and PLC controls, emergency diesel generator systems, and electrical distribution setups.
Ability to diagnose and repair IT hardware, servers, and structured cabling.
High School Diploma or greater; 2-5 years of experience in the data center industry, with the ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
