IDR is seeking a Sr. Strategist, Media Relations to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Memphis, TN. This role involves leading strategic media initiatives within a nonprofit organization dedicated to impactful community support and awareness campaigns. The position offers the chance to craft compelling public relations strategies and cultivate media relationships at both regional and national levels.

Position Overview for the Sr. Strategist, Media Relations:

• Develop and execute comprehensive media relations plans to support organizational goals.
• Support fundraising initiatives and raise awareness of the organization’s mission.
• Organize press conferences and media events to generate coverage.
• Identify media targets, create media lists, and analyze earned media efforts.
• Provide strategic counsel on multi-platform media strategies, managing stakeholder expectations with professionalism and creativity.

Requirements for the Sr. Strategist, Media Relations:

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in journalism, public relations, or marketing communications.
• Proficiency in journalism and public relations, with strong news writing and editing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, including mastery of English spelling, grammar, and usage.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to build and maintain media relationships.
