IDR is seeking a DBA to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Des Moines, IA. This role involves managing large-scale PostgreSQL databases within a dynamic environment, primarily focusing on cloud-based AWS RDS setups, performance optimization, and security. The position offers a chance to contribute to high-impact projects supporting critical data infrastructure in a collaborative setting.
Position Overview for the DBA:
- Manage and optimize large-scale PostgreSQL databases in AWS RDS environments.
- Design and implement database schemas, access patterns, and performance tuning strategies.
- Ensure database security, high availability, and disaster recovery protocols.
- Automate database administration tasks through scripting and DevOps practices.
- Collaborate with application teams to support new features and database enhancements.
Requirements for the DBA:
- Minimum of 4 years of strong and relevant experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator, specifically for large scale applications.
- Extensive experience with AWS RDS Postgres, including setup, configuration, and management.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, configuration, and administration.
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience developing and reviewing complex PL/pgSQL functions, procedures, and other database objects.
- Extensive experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
