IDR is seeking a Lead Azure Engineer to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity . In this role, you will serve as a senior technical leader helping modernize and stabilize an enterprise Azure platform supporting both corporate IT needs and technology that enables physical operations. This is an excellent chance to drive large-scale cloud infrastructure initiatives within a complex, fast-moving environment.

Position Overview for the Lead Azure Engineer:

• Lead the design and overhaul of an enterprise Azure environment, improving standardization, scalability, and reliability.
• Own Azure networking and connectivity, including VNets, subnets, routing, VPNs, DNS, firewalls, and private connectivity.
• Establish and refine Azure governance, including policies, standards, and security controls across subscriptions and workloads.
• Troubleshoot complex hybrid infrastructure issues across cloud, on-prem, identity, and security domains while staying hands-on.
• Partner with infrastructure, cybersecurity, architecture, and application teams to deliver resilient, highly available cloud solutions.

Requirements for the Lead Azure Engineer :

• Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure engineering experience supporting enterprise-scale environments
• Deep expertise in Azure networking and hybrid connectivity (VNets, subnets, routing/route tables, VPN, DNS, firewalls, private connectivity)
• Demonstrated experience designing, cleaning up, or overhauling Azure environments including governance and Azure Policies
• Experience supporting hybrid Azure/on-prem infrastructure (Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, VMware/on-prem familiarity)
• Proven ability to lead technically while remaining hands-on, troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues across networking, identity, cybersecurity, and cloud services
