Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Digital Accessibility Specialist:Using Adobe Acrobat, CommonLook, and similar tools to remediate PDF documents in order to ensure compliance with accessibility standards; ensure that complex documents meet or exceed all applicable standards.
Other document remediation assignments could include web pages, Microsoft Office documents
Using assistive technologies, such as screen readers (such as JAWS, Narrator, or NVDA), to manually ensure that document experiences are equitable and functional.
Support and fulfill accessibility accommodation requests from external stakeholders.
Track and report on progress and activities related to document remediation.
Monitor and review updated or new accessibility and document standards as appropriate.
