This is a long term contract opportunity. The client is preferring someone local to Memphis, TN but is open to remote candidates as a secondary option.
Job Description: As an Infrastructure Security Engineer, you will be responsible for defining the requirements and implementing methods to support and optimize our infrastructure systems. You will work across technologies such as Windows Server, VMWare, Active Directory, Linux Server, Network, Database, Storage, Cloud, Email, and Mobile technologies. Your efforts will directly contribute to maximizing the benefits of our IT investments by ensuring the security and efficiency of our systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and refine requirements to ensure stability and integrity of infrastructure systems.
- Develop and implement methods for monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing infrastructure systems.
- Apply problem-solving skills to resolve issues and maximize the benefits of IT systems investments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, and operations, to maintain efficient system operations.
- Conduct research and validation of security and network-related issues and requests.
- Perform platform-specific security engineering and enhancements.
- Coordinate vulnerability remediation efforts between various teams.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure systems, including hands-on experience with Windows Server, VMware, Active Directory, Linux Server, Network, Database, Storage, Cloud, Email, and Mobile technologies.
- General knowledge of network management and analysis tools (e.g., Cisco Prime, NetBrain, Meraki).
- Strong understanding of organizational goals and objectives.
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral).
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to prioritize tasks in high-pressure environments.
- Highly self-motivated with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to conduct research and present technical concepts in user-friendly language.
- Strong experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Ideal Candidate:

Technical Expertise: Expertise in infrastructure systems (Windows Server, VMware, Active Directory, Linux Server, SQL Server, Microsoft 365 administration).

Security Knowledge: Deep understanding of information security principles, including antivirus software, patch management, server virtualization, and enterprise-class storage arrays.

Communication Skills: Ability to refine and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for identifying and resolving issues.

Experience with Monitoring & Optimization: Proficient in developing and implementing strategies for infrastructure system optimization.
Top 3 Skills:
- Strong understanding of Information Security principles and practices.
- Expert-level experience with infrastructure cloud components and services.
- Network management and analysis experience (Cisco Prime, Meraki, NetBrain).
