Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Sr. Accountant:Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and relevant regulatory requirements.
Lead the preparation and review of complex journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
Partner with Avalara to ensure state tax compliance for both new and existing business locations.
Proactively identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Serve as a subject matter expert on NetSuite accounting software, leveraging advanced functionalities to optimize financial processes.
Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits, including the preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
Demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional growth, seeking opportunities for skill development and advancement.
Required Skills for Sr. Accountant:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA certification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on technical accounting and sale and use tax for multiple states.
Extensive knowledge of GAAP and proficiency in interpreting and applying accounting standards.
Experience working with NetSuite or similar ERP systems is required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
