IDR is seeking a COBOL Developer to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. The position is ideal for experienced mainframe developers with a focus on Medicaid and eligibility systems within a government or healthcare environment.
Position Overview for the COBOL Developer:
- Develop, test, and maintain COBOL programs and CICS transactions to support core application functionality.
- Gather and analyze business requirements to design efficient mainframe solutions.
- Write, modify, and optimize DB2 queries and stored procedures for data management.
- Develop and manage JCL scripts for batch processing and automation tasks.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues to ensure system stability and minimal downtime.
Requirements for the COBOL Developer:
- Advanced proficiency in COBOL coding, debugging, and performance optimization (8+ years).
- Prior experience supporting a State Medicaid/Eligibility project.
- Strong knowledge of CICS online transaction processing and system integration.
- Advanced skills in DB2 database development, query optimization, and data management.
- Extensive experience developing and maintaining JCL scripts for batch processing.
