IDR is seeking a dedicated and experienced Patient Connection Authorization Associate to join one of our top clients for a fully remote opportunity. This role involves liaising with insurance companies and other third-party payers to determine pre-certification, pre-authorization, and medical necessity requirements for complex outpatient hospital services. Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Patient Connection Authorization Associate:
  • Secured pre-certifications and authorizations for complex outpatient services, including surgeries, recurring visits, and interventional radiology, ensuring compliance with payer requirements.
  • Entered and maintained accurate authorization details in EPIC, supporting clean claims and efficient revenue cycle operations.
  • Interpreted and followed payer-specific guidelines for scheduled procedures, minimizing delays and denials.
  • Notified payers of patient admissions and outpatient encounters as required to meet authorization and notification deadlines.
  • Collaborated with clinical and financial teams to validate patient and insurance data, supporting financial clearance and reimbursement accuracy.

Required Skills for Patient Connection Authorization Associate:
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Revenue Cycle or related experience in healthcare, with one of those years working specifically within Healthcare Revenue Cycle.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and EPIC.
  • Solid understanding of how Revenue Cycle impacts financial outcomes.
  • Ability to train and mentor team members and new employees.
