IDR is seeking a Metadata Ingestion Analyst to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. In this role, you’ll serve as a senior, hands-on liaison between technical IT teams and non-technical program staff, helping ensure complex data is properly understood and usable. You’ll support metadata acquisition, analysis, and enrichment to advance reporting, strategic decision-making, and analytics development in a highly regulated environment.

Position Overview for the Metadata Ingestion Analyst

• Act as a critical liaison between technical IT and non-technical program staff for complex technical data sources across HHS departments and agencies.
• Gather business requirements and translate complex metadata acquisition and operational needs into clear, actionable access paths for data glossaries.
• Explain technical findings and data limitations in simple, non-technical language to end-users and leadership.
• Collaborate to create, validate, and maintain glossaries that support analytics development and business data lineage analysis.
• Use strong analytical and communication skills to support data ingestion and metadata enrichment in emerging AI contexts.

Requirements for the Metadata Ingestion Analyst:

• 8+ years of experience gathering business requirements and translating complex metadata acquisitions and operational requirements into clear, actionable access paths for data glossaries for complex analytics
• 8+ years of experience explaining technical findings and data limitations in simple, non-technical language to end-users and leadership
• 8+ years of experience in a complex data analysis, senior business/systems analyst, and/or data liaison role
• 8+ years of strong experience with SQL for data extraction, manipulation and enrichment
• 8+ years of experience collaborating with end-users and performance analysts or IT internal leaders to create and validate glossaries for analytics development and business data lineage analysis
