Job Title: Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant Schedule: Monday – Friday (8x5 or 4x10’s available) No weekends or On-Call | Overtime optional on weekends or after hours Outpatient Setting Position Summary: The Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (LPTA) supports the delivery of medically prescribed physical therapy under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. This role focuses on restoring function, preventing disability, and helping patients achieve optimal performance while adapting to physical limitations. The LPTA promotes a culture of safety and excellence by adhering to all regulatory and accreditation requirements, including those of the Joint Commission and national patient safety standards. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide patient care consistent with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
  • Respect patient rights and involve them in treatment planning and decision-making.
  • Implement individualized therapy programs to achieve measurable goals, monitor patient responses, and modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to communicate patient progress and any additional needs or treatment modifications.
  • Educate patients, families, caregivers, and clinical staff on therapy techniques and strategies to support rehabilitation.
  • Contribute to departmental initiatives to improve patient satisfaction and enhance process efficiency.
  • Support compliance with The Joint Commission standards across departmental and organizational levels.
  • Effectively manage time and prioritize tasks to ensure high-quality, timely patient care.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate of Science in Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Licensure: Active licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the State of Georgia
  • Experience: New graduates welcome. Experience in acute care, outpatient rehab, or skilled nursing preferred.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
