Senior SQL/ETL Developer

Ongoing contract (Client maintains right to hire after 3 months though rarely exercises this right)
Location: Warren, NJ

Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor ETL developers, ensuring high-quality delivery of data pipelines and warehouse loads.
Design, develop, and optimize advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.
Build and maintain workflows for data ingestion, cleansing, transformation, and transfer using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and T-SQL.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver data solutions that meet business needs.
Implement performance tuning strategies to improve SQL query execution and overall system performance.
Apply knowledge of data modeling concepts including normalized, de-normalized, star, and snowflake schemas.
Manage and maintain SQL Server 2019 or later environments, including deployments and backups.
Use Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for version control and automated deployments.
Handle structured and semi-structured data formats (e.g., JSON, XML) and apply scripting within SSIS.

Required Skills.

6+ years of hands-on experience in ETL development using SSIS and Microsoft SQL Server.
Expert in writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting T-SQL queries and procedures.
Proven experience with data warehouse architecture and data integration best practices.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes using Azure DevOps.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Experience working in agile, collaborative environments with shifting priorities.
