Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Platform Engineer:

• Create and govern infrastructure platform catalog

• Enforce architectural patterns and standards

• Design and define resiliency and failure domains

• Develop infrastructure design solutions in collaboration with the core engineering team

• Leverage the SRE organization embedded in application teams to scale for the Platform Engineering & Architecture charter

Required Skills for Platform Engineer:

• Proficiency in Platform Architecture design and engineering practices

• Familiarity with Host platforms such as Webfarm, Treadmill, MKS (Morgan Kubernetes)

• Experience with Compute technologies: VM, Containers, Serverless

• Knowledge of Storage technologies: Object, File

• Experience with Databases: SQL, No-SQL, Time-series

• Familiarity with Messaging systems: Kafka, MQ

• Understanding of Observability: Logs, Metrics, Traces

• Knowledge of Security protocols: Authentication, Secrets, Audit Trails

• Experience with Networking: Ingress, Services Mesh, DNS
