Position Overview / Day to Day Responsibilities: Our client is seeking a highly experienced Lead Systems Engineer to join their team. In this pivotal role, the Lead Systems Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the timely progress of key projects, providing direction and leadership when necessary, and strategically allocating resources across teams. This individual will confidently take charge when needed, ensuring the success of initiatives and the smooth operation of systems.
The role encompasses a variety of regular systems engineering duties, such as system maintenance, the deployment and configuration of new systems, and streamlining existing ones. A key focus will be on the migration of the on-premises Active Directory (AD) environment to Azure AD (now referred to as Entra ID), specifically focusing on migrating user-related services to the cloud, while servers remain on-premises. This migration project, expected to continue through mid-2025, will be a significant part of the Lead Systems Engineer’s responsibilities during this time.
Top Skills:
- 10+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer or Systems Administrator
- 2+ years of Lead experience.
- Proven expertise in both on-premises and Azure environments
- Strong experience with Hyper-V and virtualization technologies
- Extensive hands-on experience with Azure AD (Entra ID) migrations
- Solid understanding of networking principles and protocols
- Ability to oversee large-scale projects and lead technical teams through complex implementations
