Fully onsite, contract to hire position in Denver, CO 

Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Staff Platform Engineer:

  • Leverage your 8+ years of IT experience to design, develop, and optimize platform systems, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Utilize your experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Rancher, and Kubernetes to manage containerized applications and microservices.
  • Demonstrate your proficiency in CI/CD tools like GitLab CI, Jenkins, and Helm to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS and other public cloud platforms.
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or cloudinit to automate provisioning and management of infrastructure.
  • Apply your knowledge of software development frameworks (Java, Python, Spring, Go) to develop and maintain high-quality code that supports platform services.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks, ensuring timely delivery of platform improvements and bug fixes.

Required Skills for the Staff Platform Engineer:

  • 8+ years of IT experience, with a strong background in platform engineering and software development.
  • Extensive experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes) and container orchestration.
  • Proven experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps culture (GitLab CI, Jenkins, Helm).
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, Spring, Go, or PHP.
  • Deep understanding of Linux operating systems and proficiency in Bash scripting.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, especially AWS, and knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, cloudinit).
  • Experience working in agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to stay calm and focused under pressure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with public cloud service offerings (IaaS, PaaS services such as OCI, Google Cloud, etc.).
  • Knowledge of virtualization platforms like VMware or Hyper-V.
