IDR is seeking a DB2 Administrator to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Lake Mary, FL. This role is within a government agency supporting critical database operations and infrastructure. The position involves maintaining, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex database environments to ensure high availability and performance.

Position Overview for the DB2 Administrator :

  • Administer and maintain DB2 database environments, ensuring availability, performance, security, and integrity
  • Perform SQL tuning and optimize database performance
  • Monitor and troubleshoot complex production database issues, providing root cause analysis
  • Execute and manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
  • Support mainframe operations and develop automation scripts using Unix/Linux shell scripting

Requirements for the DB2 Administrator :

  • 5+ years experience as a DB2 Database Administrator supporting production environments
  • Strong experience with DB2 performance tuning, SQL optimization, and troubleshooting
  • Advanced experience supporting databases in AWS environments
  • Advanced experience working in Red Hat Linux environments
  • Advanced experience with Snowflake (architecture and operational support)
