IDR is seeking a Build and Release Engineer to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. In this role, you’ll help modernize and support CI/CD workflows that enable reliable, secure software delivery at scale. You’ll partner with engineering teams to standardize source control practices, streamline build automation, and improve release quality for mission-critical initiatives.

Position Overview for the Build and Release Engineer:

• Administer and support Azure DevOps services with an emphasis on source control governance and pipeline reliability
• Build, troubleshoot, and maintain multi-stage YAML pipelines, including reusable templates across repositories
• Manage repository controls such as permissions, branch policies, pull request rules, and merge strategies
• Support and maintain self-hosted build agents (Windows/Linux) and related toolchains used for builds and deployments
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve build/release processes, quality gates, and delivery standards

Requirements for the Build and Release Engineer:

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Repos, Azure Pipelines, and Azure Artifacts (plus working knowledge of Azure Boards)
• Proven ability to create and troubleshoot multi-stage YAML pipelines from scratch, including reusable YAML templates
• Strong Git expertise (branching/merging/rebasing, conflict resolution, tagging, and history recovery)
• Scripting proficiency in PowerShell and/or Bash for build and deployment automation
• Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert certification (AZ-400 and prerequisite certification)
