As a Chemical Process Operator, you'll collaborate closely with supervisors and team members to ensure that operations run smoothly and efficiently.
What You’ll Do: As a Chemical Process Operator, you will be responsible for:
- Weighing, measuring, preparing, and mixing materials to create stock solutions/products according to work instructions and batch procedures.
- Calculating required material quantities and adjusting ratios as necessary during production processes.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area, identifying and reporting any safety concerns promptly.
- Operating forklifts and utilizing air respirators (full-face supplied air and cartridge style) while handling and disposing of hazardous materials.
- Collecting samples and performing in-process testing (e.g., pH, conductivity) to resolve issues that arise.
- Ensuring proper handling of chemical raw materials and the safe disposal of hazardous waste.
- Maintaining accurate production records and labeling all prepared solutions and buffers.
- Conducting SAP transactions, including goods issue/receipt, labor tracking, inventory transfers, and lookups.
- Communicating inventory, planning, quality, or process issues to supervisors and suggesting updates to work instructions and process improvements.
- Performing basic troubleshooting and minor repairs on equipment, escalating to maintenance when necessary.
- Decontaminating, preparing, and isolating equipment for cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring: The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- A high school diploma or GED (Proof required).
- An associate’s degree in a chemical/biological field or a Chemical/Biological Processing certification (preferred).
- 1-3 years of production experience.
- Experience operating stand-up reach forklifts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly SAP, is a plus.
- Strong math skills with the ability to convert units of measure and calculate ratios.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Basic analytical skills to resolve straightforward issues practically and effectively.
