Tool Technician (Aerospace Manufacturing)
Pay: $20 – $30 per hour (Depending on experience)
Location: Buena Park, Ca Area
Schedule: Full-time | 1st Shift
Helpmates is hiring for a
Tool Technician that will keep production running smoothly by controlling, inspecting, maintaining, and tracking all tooling, including dies, molds, fixtures, and other shop equipment.
This position involves hands-on work in the shop as well as data entry into our ERP system, ensuring all tooling is properly documented, labeled, and compliant with U.S. Government property requirements.
Job Duties:

Receive, label, and record new tooling and fixtures in the ERP system

Assign tool identification numbers and ensure all labels meet U.S. Government compliance standards

Perform inspections on tooling for wear, damage, or corrosion before and after use

Conduct basic preventive maintenance (cleaning, lubrication, corrosion prevention)

Coordinate with engineering or vendors for tooling repairs and maintenance

Input and maintain accurate data, photos, and condition reports in the ERP system

Safely move, load, and store tooling using forklifts and hoists

Support physical inventory checks, audits, and customer/government property surveys

Maintain a clean, organized, and secure tooling area
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (required)

2–3 years of experience in tooling, manufacturing, shipping & receiving, or warehouse control

Comfortable using computers and ERP/data entry systems

Able to read, speak, and write in English (for labeling and compliance purposes)

Forklift operation experience (required)

Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation accuracy
Highly Preferred:

Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment

Familiarity with government property control standards (FAR 52.245-1)

Exposure to CNC/CMM machines and precision tooling
