Helpmates is looking for an experienced CNC Programmer with a background in aerospace or manufacturing to join our manufacturing team in the aerospace and defense industry.
Schedule: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (Flexibility with starting at 6 am or 7 am)
Pay Rate: $30.00 - $36.00 /HR.
Location: Buena Park, CA
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC machines, including mills, lathes, and drill/tap centers, according to daily production schedules.
Interpret and work from blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine machine settings and adjustments.
Perform in-process inspections and monitor critical dimensions using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges).
Ensure parts meet quality standards by following inspection processes and documenting findings.
Conduct minor machine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure machines operate efficiently.
Maintain quality of product to meet company objectives (e.g., 2500ppm or better on shipped parts).
Keep work area organized, clean, and in compliance with all safety regulations.
Accurately complete production records, including build plans, quantities produced, scrap reports, and any relevant comments.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback and participating in improvement activities.
Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
Experience / Education Needed:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
3+ years experience as a CNC Machinist in a production or manufacturing environment.
Experience working with Fanuc controls preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong understanding of shop mathematics (including decimals, fractions, basic trigonometry).
Inspection knowledge and use of precision measurement tools.
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge by performing a work related test during the interview process.
