Helpmates is looking for a motivated JR CNC Mill Machinist eager to learn and grow. Responsibilities include setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling machines to produce quality parts according to engineering drawings. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring machines run efficiently while following safety and quality standards.
Schedule: 1st Shift, 6:00am - 3:30pm
Pay Rate: $18 - $23/hr. Depending on experience and knowledge.
Job Duties:
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines (vertical and horizontal) to produce precision parts.
- Be open and ready to learn the craft to further develop knowledge.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to determine machining operations, tooling, and setups.
- Select appropriate materials, tools, and machine parameters based on specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC mills to ensure they are operating at optimal efficiency.
- Troubleshoot machine issues, making adjustments and repairs as necessary to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain accurate records of machine setups, production times, and any issues or deviations encountered during machining.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to report progress and suggest improvements.
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and your team.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Ensure machines are properly cleaned and maintained according to safety regulations.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, including tool selection, machine calibration, and set-up.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models.
- Proficient in using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision instruments.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience as a CNC Mill Machinist, with expertise in set-up and operation of CNC mills.
- Experience with programming and operating CNC machines (G-code, M-code knowledge preferred).
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or machining environment is highly desirable.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Technical degree or certification in machining, manufacturing, or related field preferred.
