Job Title: CNC Machinist – Lathe Operator

Job Summary: Seeking a skilled CNC Machinist specializing in lathe operations to join our manufacturing team with setup experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating CNC lathes, producing complex aerospace components with precision and efficiency. This role requires a deep understanding of CNC machinery, the ability to perform intricate setups, and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
The ability to read and write English
Set up, run, and troubleshoot all site specific CNC machines to manufacture parts per engineering drawings and specifications.
Execute complex setups independently, including selecting and installing appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials.
Interpret blueprints, manuals, and technical documents to determine dimensions and tolerances.
Hands-on experience using inspection tools (Micrometers, calipers, comparators, etc.)
Monitor machining processes to detect malfunctions or deviations and adjust controls as required.
Utilize precision measuring instruments to verify conformance of finished workpieces to specifications.
Perform routine maintenance on machines, including checking fluid levels and cleaning.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and company policies.
Work closely with engineers, programmers, and production personnel to resolve machining challenges.
Train other employees to set up CNC programs
Required Qualifications:
Must Have Set Up Experience
Minimum of 5 years of CNC lathe operation experience, with at least 3 years in a conventional machining environment.
Proven ability to set up and operate various CNC and manual machines
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong understanding of GD&T.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with CNC programming codes.
Solid mathematical skills pertinent to machining tasks.
Must be willing to undergo a background check & drug screen
Must be ITAR-compliant
Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Forklift or Crane Operator certification is a plus but not mandatory.
Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 (GD&T) is preferred but not required.
