Helpmates is seeking a skilled Aerospace Assembler to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and a commitment to maintaining quality standards in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.
Schedule: 3:30 pm - 12:00 am
Pay Rate: $17 - $18.50/hr.
Job Duties:
Read and interpret basic work instructions, drawings, and diagrams in English.
Document work details on work orders/travelers, including material shelf life, lot numbers, and quantities used.
Apply basic shop math skills for accurate measurements and assembly.
Follow company policies, procedures, and aerospace industry quality standards.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment while consistently producing high-quality aerospace parts.
Prepare caul sheets or tools for lay-up by cleaning and applying release agents as needed.
Cut pre-preg materials or film adhesive using measuring tools and cutting instruments per work order and drawing specifications.
Assemble panel materials, caul sheets, and release paper according to specifications.
Properly prepare panels before pressing, manage core dehumidification, and follow static plan instructions.
Weigh and mix resins/epoxies as specified for production.
Cut and trim uncured composite materials using scissors or knives.
Prepare parts for lay-up by abrading and solvent cleaning as required.
Assemble lay-up parts per drawing and specifications, ensuring proper application to prevent defects.
Utilize various bagging techniques and perform vacuum leak checks before curing, resolving any detected leaks.
Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and requesting repairs.
Ensure smooth shift transitions by documenting and communicating ongoing tasks and irregularities.
Complete production and quality logs as required.
Stay updated on industry knowledge through training and technical publications.
Identify and select the correct Kydex/Royalite per static plan.
Package parts for shipment, ensuring compliance with shipping serialization and quality standards.
Organize completed FOD-free panels in the correct sequence and track inventory, reporting any discrepancies.
Requirements:
Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
Basic math and measurement skills.
Experience in composite lay-up, vacuum bagging, or aerospace assembly preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to use hand tools, cutting instruments, and measuring equipment.
Willingness to learn and follow strict aerospace quality and safety standards.
