Medical Coding Auditor HealthCare Support is actively seeking a Medical Coding Auditor  to fill an opening with a non-profit health plan that provides Medicare and Medi-Cal healthcare services to over 1.5 million members in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Daily Responsibilities for the Medical Coding Auditor:
  • Performs reviews of medical records and healthcare claims to substantiate or refute the accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations and contractual requirements of codes billed to identify coding errors and billing discrepancies in relation to incidents of suspected healthcare fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA) reported to IEHP’s Compliance Special Investigations Unit (SIU).
  • You will review provider, home health, hospital, pharmacy cases and anything that has been flagged as potential fraud and / or abuse
  • Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Hybrid schedule 
Required Qualifications for the Medical Coding Auditor:
  • Must have 2 years of experience performing medical reviews of medical records and claims in a healthcare setting
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in medical Billing/Medical Coding, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field from an accredited institution
  • In lieu of the degree, a minimum of 4 years of additional relevant work experience is required for this position.
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required
  • Microsoft Office programs including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access
  • Must have a valid California Driver's License

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution preferred

Pay Details: 
  •  $71,572.80 – $93,038.40 per year
  • Annual HEDIS Incentive: Up to 10%
  • They offer annual merit increases up to 5% based upon their individual performance
