Now Hiring: CNC Lathe Programmer Machinist
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Pay Range: $25.00–$30.00/hour
Type: Temp-to-Hire (TTH)
Environment: Small team (approx. 15 employees), collaborative atmosphere
We are seeking a
CNC Lathe Programmer Machinist for a
temp-to-hire opportunity at a precision machining facility located in
Conway, New Hampshire. This position requires true "Print-to-Part" skills — the ideal candidate must be able to
program, set up, and operate CNC lathe machines independently using customer blueprints and technical drawings.
This is not just an operator role; the right candidate will be proficient in programming machines and producing high-quality parts with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Program CNC lathe machines from blueprints and customer drawings
- Set up and safely operate CNC lathes to manufacture parts from metals and plastics
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment
- Interpret mechanical drawings, tolerances, and specifications
- Load/unload materials and manage scrap tracking
- Conduct in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools
- Identify and report defects or machine issues
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
- Collaborate with the team to improve efficiency and product quality
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned to support production goals
Inspection & Quality Requirements:
- Inspect material for defects and verify part orientation
- Confirm cut stock quantities and final part measurements throughout production
- Record and report deviations from job specifications
Physical Requirements & Work Conditions:
- Standing, sitting, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs (8–10 hour shifts)
- Manufacturing environment: exposure to dust, metal shavings, and machine oil
- Required PPE: safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves (when handling sharp materials), ear protection if needed
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma/GED or vocational technical school training required
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on CNC experience
- Proficient in reading blueprints, job specs, and machine adjustments
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or DXF files is a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
- Effective communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Prior experience with CNC control systems (Fanuc, Siemens, etc.) preferred
