Job Title: Experienced Cook – Urgently Hiring
Pay: Up to $20/hour, depending on experience
Hours: Option 1 – Two 12-hour shifts and one 8-hour shift per week; Option 2 – Five days/week, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM (Breakfast Crew)

We are seeking an
Experienced Cook for a
temporary-to-hire position for our client, a residential care facility located in
Auburn, Maine. The Experienced Cook will prepare and serve nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and resident needs. The Experienced Cook ensures meals are prepared with care, served on time, and supports a clean, well-run kitchen environment. This is a short-term assignment with the potential for temp-to-hire, located in Auburn, Maine
As an Experienced Cook, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing and cooking meals following dietary restrictions and menu plans
- Ensuring food is served at the proper temperature and portion size
- Following all food safety, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness standards
- Maintaining a clean and organized workstation
- Assisting with dishwashing and kitchen cleanup as needed
- Communicating with team members to coordinate food service
- Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience as a cook, preferably in long-term care or assisted living
- Ability to follow recipes and menu plans accurately
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- A positive, team-oriented attitude
- Food Handler’s Card (ServSafe certification preferred)
- Ability to pass a background check (no theft, drug-related, or violent offenses)
- Immunizations required. Must show proof of MMR, Varicella, HepB and Flu. Either via medical record or titers drawn.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and work in a fast-paced kitchen
