Job Title: Snap Collator — Urgently Hiring!
Pay: $19–$20/hr depending on experience (up to $21–$22/hr if market requires)
Hours: 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM, Monday–Friday Start Date: ASAP We are seeking a Snap Collator for a temp-to-hire position in the Sheet Fed Bindery Department of a manufacturing facility located in Portland, Maine. The Snap Collator operates machinery that consolidates multiple parts of business forms into the proper order and trims them to size as necessary. Success in this role means consistently producing high-quality finished forms while ensuring efficient machine operation and meeting delivery requirements. This is a hands-on manufacturing role located in Portland, Maine. As a Snap Collator, you will be responsible for:Prioritizing work according to delivery date, quantity, size of job, and job specifications.
Calculating the number of boxes necessary for the job to ensure proper shipping labels.
Retrieving proper sized boxes, chips, and rolls of finished forms from storage.
Loading rolls of finished forms onto spindles as specified by the job ticket.
Adjusting the machine according to job specifications, including setting slitter blades, pins, brushes, augers, numbering mechanisms, and glue nozzles as required.
Threading paper forms through rollers and aligning targets for quality control.
Running samples for quality and alignment verification.
Monitoring machine operation and adjusting settings as needed.
Packaging finished forms: stacking, jogging straight, inserting chips, taping boxes, and labeling with appropriate designations.
Filling out timesheets and delivering jobs to the appropriate department for further processing.
Maintaining general housekeeping and ensuring the safe operation of machinery.
High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret job instructions.
Experience operating machinery, hoists, pallet jacks, and other tools.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Ability to stand for long periods in a production environment requiring hearing protection.
Ability to lift and pull items ranging from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs. throughout the shift.
Capable of machine tending and loading/unloading paper.
