Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic – Urgently Hiring

We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for a full-time position with our client, a single-shift sawmill, planer mill, and dry kiln facility located in Baldwin, Maine. The Maintenance Mechanic will play a critical role in ensuring all machinery and equipment are in top working order to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. The Maintenance Mechanic will thrive in a hands-on environment, proactively addressing mechanical issues and supporting day-to-day production needs. This is a day-shift position located in Baldwin, ME.

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for:

• Performing routine maintenance on machinery and equipment, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspections

• Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues, then executing timely repairs

• Installing new machinery and equipment as needed

• Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed

• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies

• Communicating with production staff to identify and resolve equipment issues impacting operations

• Conducting welding and metal fabrication repairs

• Working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• A high school diploma or equivalent

• A minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing or sawmill setting

• Proficiency in welding and metal fabrication (required)

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics

• Experience with hand and power tools

• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures

• Self-motivation and the ability to work independently or as part of a team

• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when needed

• Physical ability to perform hands-on mechanical work throughout the shift
