Job Title: AR Financial Specialist – Urgently Hiring!

We are seeking an AR Financial Specialist for a full-time, temp-to-hire position for our client, a respected nonprofit human services organization located in St. Albans, ME. The AR Financial Specialist will play a key role on the Finance team, ensuring accurate billing, payment posting, and financial reporting. After 90 days, this position offers a hybrid work schedule with the ability to work from home two days per week.

The AR Financial Specialist is a detail-oriented and organized professional with a solid understanding of accounting principles and a commitment to financial accuracy. This role supports the financial health of the organization while working closely with internal teams, vendors, and customers.

As an AR Financial Specialist, you will be responsible for:

• Billing MaineCare and individuals at the time of service

• Reviewing authorization letters and resolving denied claims

• Posting incoming payments and accurately recording financial transactions

• Generating financial reports and maintaining documentation

• Collaborating with Finance staff, leadership, and external partners to ensure accuracy

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• At least 1 year of accounts receivable experience or a degree in Accounting

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Google Suite

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

Nice to Have:

• Experience in medical billing, especially with MaineCare

• Familiarity with QuickBooks and Therap software
