Job Title: Marine and Awning Fabricator/Cutter/Stitcher – Temp-to-Hire Pay: $20+/hour, depending on experience Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:30 PM or 7:00 AM–4:00 PM. December through March: Fridays off. Start Date: ASAP We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Marine and Awning Fabricator/Cutter/Stitcher for a temp-to-hire position with our client, a family-owned business located in Portland, Maine. This company specializes in fabricating and installing custom canvas and metal products for boats, including canopies, Biminis, cushions, and more. As a Marine and Awning Fabricator, you will be responsible for:

• Measuring and cutting various fabrics and materials to precise specifications.

• Operating industrial sewing machines to stitch canvas and upholstery components.

• Creating templates and patterns for custom projects.

• Installing fabric and metal components on boats, ensuring a secure and professional fit.

• Collaborating with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.

• Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• At least 1 year of experience in a production setting, with a focus on sewing and cutting.

• Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines, strong math and measuring skills, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

• Self-motivated, personable, energetic, hard-working, and a hands-on team player with creative multi-tasking abilities.

• Valid driver's license.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions during installations.
