Yard Worker Urgently Hiring

Pay: $20-$22/hour, experience dependent

Hours: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM; Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (mandatory overtime)

Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a Yard Worker for a temporary position through Thanksgiving, with the possibility of becoming permanent, for our client, a marine business located in Boothbay Harbor, ME. The Yard Worker will assist in the final cleaning of boats after they are removed from the water for the end of the season. A successful Yard Worker will demonstrate a strong work ethic and punctuality while ensuring that boats are properly cleaned and prepared for storage. This is a temporary position located in Boothbay Harbor, ME.

As a Yard Worker, you will be responsible for:

• Cleaning boats and preparing them for storage once they are removed from the water.

• Handling all aspects of marine equipment operation and general boat yard labor, including launching and hauling boats.

• Operating marine equipment safely and properly.

• Following directions and working effectively within a team.

• Wearing required personal protective equipment, such as rain gear or gloves, when necessary.

• Working outdoors in all weather conditions.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Prior experience working with or around heavy equipment, such as forklifts, with an emphasis on safety awareness.

• A strong, positive attitude and a track record of excellent attendance and reliability.

• A basic understanding of boats, boat terms, and their components.

• The ability to wear a respirator and pass a fit test at OHA.

• The physical ability to meet job requirements.

• Sturdy, closed-toe shoes; rain gear will be provided.
