Job Title: Temp Pharmacy Technician – Mail Order
Pay: $19.22/Hr. to $24.88/Hr. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Start Date: ASAP We are seeking a Temporary Pharmacy Technician for a temporary position for our client located in Portland, ME. The Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacists in the fulfillment of prescription orders from start to finish while providing excellent customer service and supporting all pharmacy department and organizational goals. This is a temporary role with an expected assignment duration of 6 months, with the potential for extension or temp-to-hire opportunities. As a Temporary Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for:Creating and maintaining accurate patient profiles, including demographics, insurance, allergies, etc., to ensure accurate and timely filling of prescription orders.
Answering routine inquiries regarding Health Plan drug coverage, prices, product availability, formulary listings, and pharmacy services.
Abiding by all HIPAA, DOD, CMS, state, federal, and board of pharmacy laws and regulations, ensuring the privacy of customers.
Performing tasks at various pharmacy workstations, including data entry, filling, shipping, call center, register, and inventory management to support pharmacy group goals.
Using the electronic Medical Record (Athena) to communicate with internal Delivery System staff regarding medication refills and answering non-clinical questions.
Reviewing medication purchases to ensure the best purchasing decisions, reducing expenses for both patients and the organization.
Displaying professionalism and promoting excellence in service as an integral part of the pharmacy department.
Participating in all department and pharmacy group meetings and process improvement activities.
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous pharmacy experience preferred
Experience in a medical setting and/or knowledge of pharmacy terms and abbreviations preferred
Active pharmacy license for state applying or eligibility to obtain pharmacy license within 90 days
National Pharmacy Certification preferred
Strong Windows-based computer skills, including data entry and word processing ability
Excellent telephone etiquette and positive interpersonal skills
Ability to handle difficult conversations with patients and internal customers
Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyze and problem-solve
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-production, and high-stress environment
Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through skills
