Job Title: Welder I 

Pay: $20/hHr., more depending on experience Hours: Monday to Thursday, 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM Start Date: ASAP We are seeking a Welder I for a Temp-Hire position for our client located in Biddeford, ME. The Welder I will be responsible for entry-level production welding, operating various equipment, and learning welding techniques. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a mechanical background who are eager to develop their welding skills and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. As a Welder I, you will be responsible for:
  • Operating equipment such as presses, welders, and spot welders.

  • Assembling and welding roll singles and sections.

  • Assisting in the assembly of various shells.

  • Learning to set up and operate GMAW, GTAW, and SMAW welding processes.

  • Attaching rigging and operating an overhead crane and/or using a lift truck to move parts to fabrication or assembly areas.

  • Maintaining compliance with ISO 9000 systems.

  • Identifying areas for improvement throughout the roll fabrication process, including safety, tools, and equipment.

  • Maintaining orderliness in work areas, following LEAN 6s principles.

  • Willingness to work overtime to meet delivery schedules and occasional travel to customer/vendor facilities.

  • Helping ensure safety policies are being followed and reporting concerns to management.

  • Performing other tasks as assigned.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • Experience with mechanical equipment and prior employment in a manufacturing environment (preferred).

  • Ability to read and understand drawings (a plus).

  • Basic mathematical skills.

  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.

  • Strong attention to safety and detail.

  • Physical ability to meet job demands.
