Job Title: Press Brake Operator
Pay: $21/Hr. to $30/Hr., depending on experience Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM Start Date: ASAP We are seeking a Press Brake Operator for a temp to hire position for our client, a well-established custom sheet-metal fabricator in Biddeford, Maine. The Press Brake Operator will play a critical role in the operation of press brake machines, ensuring parts are formed to customer specifications and meeting high-quality standards. Success in this position involves efficient operation of machinery, maintaining a safe working environment, and producing quality metal parts. This is a temp to hire position located in Biddeford, ME. As a Press Brake Operator, you will be responsible for:Confirming that all machine guarding and safety devices are in place and operational.
Performing daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
Operating press brake machines to form sheet metal to customer specifications, as outlined in the Job Traveler.
Maintaining logs of minor preventive maintenance on a daily/weekly schedule, according to manufacturer’s recommendations.
Measuring workpiece dimensions throughout the forming process to ensure quality and consistency.
Notifying supervisors of any maintenance issues or repairs needed.
Setting and adjusting machine pressure and tool clearance, ensuring correct alignment of workpieces.
Verifying the quantity, material type, and dimensions of each job, as well as ensuring proper bend sequences and tooling.
Maintaining die inventory and alerting engineering of any damaged or broken tooling.
Keeping work areas clean and organized, adhering to safety standards.
Following company protocols for handling material and maintaining safe working conditions.
High school diploma, GED, or completion of a technical program.
At least 1 year of press brake operation experience; additional experience with CNC machines is a plus.
Excellent understanding of safety standards and machine operation.
Ability to read tape measures, calipers, and protractors.
Basic math skills (ability to convert decimals and fractions).
Detail-oriented, proactive, with a strong work ethic.
Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work with machinery in a manufacturing environment.
Completion of safety and machine operation training.
