Skill trade openings! CNC Machinist, Manual or Large Lathe Operators - Westbrook & Gorham, ME!

Bonney Staffing is seeking some skilled Machinists to join our teams in Westbrook & Gorham, ME. You will be responsible for performing precision machining operations to produce high-quality parts. This role involves programming, setting up, and operating CNC machinery, as well as troubleshooting, diagnosing, and making mechanical adjustments and repairs as needed. There are 1st and 2nd shift position available! These are Direct Hire opportunities! This opportunity is NOT just seeking Operators, but actual Machinist experience!  Details:

• Pay Rate: $22 - $34/hr

• Schedule:
  • Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM; or
  • Monday - Thursday, 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM

Key Responsibilities:

• Machining Setup: Plan machining operations by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and materials. Determine necessary fixtures, attachments, and tools, and mount them on the machine.

• Programming and Operation: Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes. Enter instructions, monitor operations, and verify incoming work orders for correct material.

• Inspection and Quality Control: Ensure products meet blueprint specifications by taking precise measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting, adjusting, and reprogramming as needed.

• Maintenance: Monitor machine temperatures, perform preventive maintenance, and replace coolant periodically. Maintain equipment and keep detailed records of actions.

• Documentation and Communication: Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting actions and communicating with team members.

• Safety: Adhere to safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 2-year technical college degree preferred.

• 5 years of related machine tool trade experience preferred.

• Experience with horizontal milling machines.

• Proficient in using measuring tools/gauges and cutting tools.

• Strong understanding of blueprints and routers.

• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

• Ability to work on complex projects with minimal guidance.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for 8-10 hour shifts.
