We are hiring for a Machinist who will be responsible for servicing all machining requirements, including but not limited to Carbon/Carbon (C/C) products, test specimens, materials, manufacturing tooling, and equipment components. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to apply and further develop your manual machining skills.
Details:Schedule: 6:00am - 4:30pm or 5:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Thursday, 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday
Pay Rate: Starting at $30/Hr.
Start Date: February 21st
Service machining requirements for carbon/carbon products, test specimens, tooling, and equipment components.
Assemble, repair, and fabricate metal parts using mechanical equipment.
Interpret blueprints and design sketches to ensure accurate dimensions and tolerance levels.
Operate manual and automatic machines: vertical mills, horizontal lathes, surface grinders, manual and tracking band saws.
Perform geometric and mathematical calculations for machining and inspection.
Inspect in-process and finished products for quality and technical compliance.
Maintain machine tools and equipment in clean operating condition.
Handle hazardous waste per safety procedures if required.
Participate in Lean activities and follow all safety protocols.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years related experience.
CNC operating experience.
Manufacturing experience with a strong understanding of ASME Y 14.5.
Ability to interpret technical drawings with geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
Experience with manually operated equipment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
2-year technical degree.
Manual machining experience.
Lean / Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement experience.
