Job Title: Assistant to the Business Manager

Pay: $24/Hr., or more, depending on experience Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:15 PM Start Date: ASAP We are seeking an Assistant to the Business Manager for a Full-Time position located in Portland.. The Assistant to the Business Manager will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the business by providing support to the Business Manager and contributing to the overall efficiency of the company. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and ready to take on a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment. A positive attitude and strong organizational skills are essential. This is a Full-Time position located in Portland. As an Assistant to the Business Manager, you will be responsible for:
  • Supporting the Business Manager with daily tasks and ongoing projects.

  • Performing basic bookkeeping duties and assisting with maintaining financial records.

  • Coordinating with vendors to manage contracts, orders, and services.

  • Troubleshooting software and IT issues as needed.

  • Assisting with special projects and various administrative tasks.

  • Helping answer phones during staff shortages to maintain seamless communication.

  • Ensuring the office is stocked with necessary supplies and managing other office essentials.

  • If applicable, assisting with basic HR-related tasks, including onboarding new employees, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Basic knowledge of bookkeeping or a willingness to learn.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks).

  • A proactive, positive attitude with a team-player mindset.

  • Prior administrative or business support experience (preferred).

  • Bonus: Experience or comfort in handling basic HR tasks such as onboarding and employee record maintenance. This would be highly valued and could justify consideration for a higher pay rate.
