We are looking for a Human Resources and Excel Specialist in Gorham, ME that will be responsible for providing support to employees and the Human Resources Manager. This dynamic role involves diverse responsibilities, from recruiting top talent to fostering positive employee relations and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. To be successful in this role you must have excellent Microsoft Excel skills, strong prioritizing skills, and excellent customer service skills.

Job Details:  Starting Pay Rate: $21/Hr. Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am – 5:00; flexibility for a part time schedule will be considered Start Date: ASAP Job Responsibilities:
  • Support the end-to-end recruiting process, from ad creation to conducting interviews and maintaining records.
  • Shadow team members in every department to be able to speak confidently and answer questions about different positions while interviewing potential new hires.
  • Assist to oversee hiring, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
  • Compile and assist to analyze data for reports using Excel, ensuring compliance and facilitating decision-making.
  • Participate in HR-related initiatives, including benefits administration, communications and policy implementation.
  • Maintain positive employee relations, addressing communication, problem resolution, and teamwork.
  • Assist to coordinate Workers’ Compensation Claim Management and Safety initiatives.
  • Assist to promote and communicate employee benefit and wellness programs.
  • Assist to coordinate employee events and recognition programs.
  • Process HR invoices and expense reports.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Stay connected to business processes and employees by interacting with them at all levels.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred; students are welcome to apply
  • HR or legal/regulatory knowledge or experience with a general understanding of HR principles and practices desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong proficiency with Excel; must pass an Excel Assessment
  • Exceptional customer service aptitude and a positive attitude
  • The ability to work collaboratively with all members of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Highly organized with excellent analytical, time management, and most importantly, prioritization skills.
  • A multi-tasker who enjoys and thrives in fast paced and dynamic environments.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential information with knowledge of data privacy and security processes.
