Quantitative Data Scientist

Quantitative Data Scientist Our direct client, a growing startup life sciences’ SaaS company, is seeking a passionate Quantitative Data Scientist to join the team. In this role, you will use large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization while using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to drive business results through data-based insights. Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement Data Science and ML methods on large-scale datasets
  • Use proprietary and open-access data to generate statistically motivated research hypotheses
  • Apply statistical methods to rigorously test and evaluate research hypotheses including probabilistic models, simulations, and forecasting
  • Apply Large Language Models to facilitate analyses of datasets
  • Develop and foster external collaborations
  • Provide expert technical guidance and support customers in the design and analysis of experiments
  • Work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to develop data analysis and machine learning solutions.
  • Research and explore large datasets to generate hypotheses, assemble datasets, test hypotheses, build statistical models to create insights and improve models.
Qualifications:
  • You have lived and breathed math, stats, and data science throughout your career
  • Masters’ or Ph.D. degree in statistics, data science, computer science, or other STEM fields (e.g., physics, math, engineering, etc.)
  • 5+ years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), using statistical analysis and data science best practices
  • Experience with machine learning
  • Excellent personal and communication skills, including solid presentation and writing skills;
  • Must be self-motivated, a quick learner, dedicated to achieving excellence, and love to take on new challenges.
  • Demonstrated experience handling highly sensitive data in compliance with regulatory standards, ensuring strict confidentiality and adherence to legal and ethical guidelines
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical or FinTech industry
  • Experience working in a start-up environment is preferred
