ROLE TITLE
Site and Setting Out Engineer
FUNCTION
Working on the Milford Haven Station Interchange Scheme on Network Rail infrastructure. Working within the Civil Construction Team as a Site and Setting Out Engineer, a prominent role to ensure construction works are undertaken and delivered in accordance with the plan in a safe manner, and is managed and maintained to the highest standard.

ROLE PURPOSE
-
Interface between the design activities and construction activities – ensuring all works are constructed in accordance with approved designs.

Prepare Health and Safety Files for presentation to the Client Engineers.

Review hand over documentation for accuracy and conformance to the design specification.

Undertake setting out duties to a high degree of precision and supervise other engineers setting out work.

Produce and manage inspection and test plans across the construction works. Including undertaking of Engineers installation inspections.

Complete Red line drawings and ensure accuracy of As Built issued drawings.

Have a clear understanding of engineering tolerances on the contract and communicate these to the team.

Organisational: Subcontractor management to collate Health and Safety File Information
INTERFACES
Internal: Sub Contractors, Site Managers, Site Engineers, CEM and CRE.
Managers
External: Project Manager, Scheme Project Manager, Project Engineers and Construction Managers.

Safety Leadership on site, contributing to the wider programme safety targets and culture

Deliver Health and Safety Files in line with hand over programme.

Report errors or omissions in a timely and diligent manner.

Ensure all personnel under your control are fully briefed and work in a safe manner.

Ensure works are being undertaken and recorded as required by the quality management system.

Develop and maintain strong Client and Stakeholder relationships.
PERSONAL QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE
The following qualities/experience are essential:

Engineering Qualification (MEng, BEng, BSc) in Civil Engineering or similar discipline.

Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with recognised body.

Strong team worker and ability to build relationships across the team.

Experience of setting out/ use of digital progressive assurance systems

Strong communicator using verbal and written methods.
The following qualities/experience are desirable:

PTS certified.

Completed recognised training course in Health and Safety (NEBOSH, IOSH or SMSTS).

Computer literate: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook.

Being able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
