Astute's Strategic Division are currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to join the EPC Contractor across a number of Telehouse Data Centres builds in the London area on a 12 months contract basis.
The Electrical Engineer position comes with a day rate from £500.00 to £650.00 per day Outside IR35.
Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:
- Support the delivery of electrical engineering works across major data centre projects throughout London, working closely with the Design Manager and wider project team.
- Review electrical designs, drawings, specifications and technical submissions, ensuring designs are compliant with project requirements, relevant standards and client specifications.
- Review and respond to technical RFIs, working alongside the Design Manager, contractors and consultants to resolve electrical design queries and site issues.
- Provide technical support across HV electrical systems, with previous HV experience essential for the position.
- Review electrical equipment and system designs including HV/LV distribution, transformers, switchgear, UPS, generators and associated critical power infrastructure.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, civil and structural disciplines to identify and resolve design clashes, interfaces and constructability issues.
- Support the electrical installation through construction, testing, energisation and commissioning, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with approved designs.
- Attend design reviews, technical meetings and site coordination meetings, providing electrical engineering input and supporting the resolution of technical issues.
- Liaise with subcontractors, consultants and suppliers to ensure technical documentation, equipment selections and electrical installations meet project requirements.
- Support inspections, testing, commissioning and handover activities, ensuring electrical systems are technically compliant and ready for final client acceptance.
